Wedding Trends and trendsetters

Everyone wants their wedding day to be unique, memorable and special to them, but a little inspiration can go a long way to making your dream day absolutely perfect.

Inspiration can come from many sources and can relate to all aspects of your BIG DAY.

Just think; dresses, flowers, cakes, shoes, hair, photography, venues, make-up, favours, whole wedding day themes, transport, invitations, colour palettes, place settings, music, entertainment, food, beverages and you’ve only touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to possibilities.

Royal Weddings have always been a huge inspiration, setting trends for many years afterwards. When Kate Middleton married Prince William the use of lace in her dress and the simplicity of her headdress, inspired thousands of brides to choose something similar. Mind you, Kate’s choice was nothing new and paid homage in some way to the Queen’s wedding dress and to that of Grace Kelly, when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco. Just a couple of weeks ago Prince Harry married the love of his life and every aspect of the wedding was kept tightly under wraps, until the day itself. When each aspect was revealed to the world, a tsunami of comments were felt throughout the world of social media.

The moment cameras zoomed in on the monumental arch of white roses and peonies surrounding the entrance to St. George’s chapel, the phones at small florist shops up and down the country started ringing. Someone even jumped out of their car in Pulborough village to ask the local florist if she had any white peonies in stock, which luckily she did!

The Chelsea Flower Show

This year the theme for the Florist of the Year award was ‘Spring Wedding‘. Contestants were asked to come up with their interpretation of a ‘Floral Wedding Throne‘ which inspired and delighted all the competing florists, resulting in a magnificent selection of floral thrones. Florists are already receiving enquiries about floral wedding thrones from brides up and down the country.

Even photography has it’s trends. The very best photographers have their own individual style, these may be styles they have developed themselves or have been inspired by other great photographers. Why not take a look at some of our Recommended Photographers  and you will see how each one differs.

Colour palettes follow trends, from pale pastels, deep cerise and purples, to soft beige and greys.

Fashions and Trends

Trends are different from the latest fashions, which is great news if you are planning a wedding. Fashions are short-lived, if like many couples, you are planning a wedding months or often years ahead, sticking to the current fashion could be a mistake. However spotting and following an emerging trend is a gift and requires time and effort. This is why some couples take on the services of a Wedding Planner, but whether you chose to employ someone to do this or you take on everything yourself, having elements which mean something to each party (bride, groom, family or friends) is what will make your wedding unique.

At Fitzleroi Wedding Barn, we give couples the whole day before their wedding to personalise the barn and make it special to them. We want couples to have a day they and their guests will never forget. We want to create beautiful memories which they will treasure their whole lives and if there’s anything we can help with, we do our very best.
